Code of Conduct
Black & Veatch has a reputation for innovative technical solutions and the ability
to execute the complex projects our clients ask of us. They know us for delivering
quality work of lasting value and operating with the highest level of integrity.
Our Code of Conduct and support policies serve to communicate the most critical
elements of our success, enhance our reputation and fulfill the mission of the company.
Think of our Code of Conduct as a high-level road map designed to orient all professionals,
including office and field staff, contingent staff and craft workers. It promotes
the values we aspire to bring to our work and discusses conduct we strongly discourage
or prohibit. The company’s corporate policies, practices and instructions supplement
these principles, providing the details each of us need in our day-to-day jobs.
Our corporate success depends on individual performance. We must adopt and implement
the highest standards of personal behavior, including honesty, trustworthiness,
diligence, inclusion and tolerance. These attributes are embedded in our corporate
values — integrity, shared ownership, common purpose, stewardship, respect, accountability
and entrepreneurship — which we all strive to exhibit in our everyday activities.
At its heart, the Code of Conduct tells us how to embody these behaviors and values
in the workplace, particularly in how we represent our company and relate to our
colleagues.
Each Black & Veatch professional is responsible for reading, absorbing and adopting
the standards outlined in the Code of Conduct. Doing so is more than an administrative
duty. It is more than conforming to a set of guidelines — guidelines, by the way,
that are critical to the long-term success of our company. It is about living by
and projecting these standards each and every day. When we do so, we help to cement
an unshakable foundation for the success of our company, and also for our professional
careers.
